Why I Spent Years Looking Outside Myself for Answers
To understand the experience, you have to first understand what led up to it.
I've been someone who has been growth-minded and spirit-minded and self-help-minded for more than half my life, a good two decades.
I've read all the books.
Gone to all the seminars.
Attended the workshops.
Gone to the conferences.
And I always felt lost.
Despite all that work, I felt lost.
I felt confused.
I didn't know why I was on this earth or what I was supposed to be doing.
I even always felt pulled to like astrology and things like that.
But it never felt right.
Until I stumbled upon my human design.
But even then, I felt like what they said my life purpose should be, felt so far from where I was in my life.
But still, I tried.
Making vision boards and manifesting and trying to change my life.
To no avail.

The Pain That Became My Turning Point
I think there comes a time in everyone's growth journey where they hit a turning point.
I don't know specifically what that was for me, but I started feeling a lot of physical pain.
Maybe the pain was my turning point.
I was in my late 30s.
I shouldn't have been in as much pain as I was.
And I had to increase my self-care.
I was going to massage therapy.
Going to physio.
Doing somatic psychotherapy.
And I was seeing a chiropractor whom I had lost complete trust and faith in.
Because he did something that I asked him not to.
And nothing was giving me relief.
It felt like I was sitting with the heating pad or the ice pack,
and I just couldn't feel better.
I got temporary relief after these appointments, but nothing really worked.
Then my therapist recommended doing craniosacral therapy.
So I found someone close by.
I went to a session with her.
My life turned around after the session.
I needed my husband (at the time) to drive me because I was in so much pain.
I hobbled into the appointment, and basically danced out.
I felt so good.
Life felt so full of possibilities.
I was on fire.
It was incredible.
And I made an appointment to see her the following week.
And every day leading up to that next appointment,
I got worse and worse and worse again.
But I continued to see her weekly for the 1st month.
And that really helped.
She is such a godsend.
If anyone reading this is living near Red Deer, Alberta, send me an email.
I will send you her info.
She is incredible.

The Craniosacral Therapy Session That Opened Me Up to Sound Healing
I continued seeing her. Something that she does is she channels intuitive messages.
In one of our sessions she asked me if I've ever tried chanting.
And in that moment, I had this light bulb of clarity of like wondering why of all these modalities I've tried, why did I never look into sound healing?
I knew about sound baths.
I didn't know you could go to one-on-one sessions.
I had been obsessed with music since I was 3 years old.
So it seemed like a logical thing for me to look into, but it's the one modality I didn't try.
I had tried meditation.
Tapping.
Breath work.
But I had never looked into sound healing.
So I picked up a book on sound healing for beginners.

It's relevant to note that I had been collecting all of this healing information throughout my life.
All these different modalities and methods, throughout my experiences, throughout my self-help and growth journey.
That comes to play in the out-of-body experience.
The Chanting Exercise That Led to My Out-of-Body Experience
So I'm reading my sound healing book on an average Tuesday.
I'm feeling lit up and lit up as I go along.
And I come to a part about chanting.
I had done Reiki, so I understand about the chakras and balancing them.
I had had my energy and my palm read at one point, and a psychic told me that some of my chakras were blocked.
So I've done chakra meditations, and I've been conscious to open my chakras and work on that throughout my self-help and growth.
So when I came upon chakra clearing through chanting exercise in the book, I was like, let's go.
Let's do this.
Right now.
If you're not familiar with it, chakra vocal toning is clearing each chakra with your own voice.
Your voice is healing to you. You were born with your unique voice because it's healing to you. So this exercise is exceptionally powerful on multiple levels.
You chant a tone for each different chakra, each tone activates a different chakra.
And contrary to what I learned in my sound therapy practitioner training, this book recommends shifting your vocal register until you feel the vibration in that chakra center.
It's more empowering to allow the student to create that relationship with their own voice, their own body, and their own energy centers.
So I settle in, and start clearing each chakra.
As I was low at the root, my voice was as low as it could go, and as I moved my way up, my register went higher and higher.
The Crucial Piece: Get Reconnected to Your Body
Thankfully I had been going through somatic psychotherapy, so I was more familiar with the sensations in my body.
I had been severely disconnected from my body most of, if not my entire life, because I had been living entirely in my head.
And so any decision I ever made came from my head and not from my body or my intuition.
But throughout this experience, it is crucial that you feel into your body.
I think that somatic psychotherapy, even though I didn't do this in a linear fashion intentionally, the somatic psychotherapy helped immensely with this vocal toning exercise.
And so I moved my way up through all the chakras, and when I got to the end, you're in this crazy vibrational meditative state after all of this toning, I felt into the energy.
Starting at the root, I could feel the energy swirling from the root up to the throat chakra.
Above that, it was like completely cut off.
The energy could not flow from my bottom half up into the top.
It's like I was cut in half energetically.
I saw the energy trying to connect, but at the throat center, it was coming through like a drippy faucet instead of a proper flow.
In that moment I remembered something that I had learned in my somatic psychotherapy.
And so I grounded into the earth, I rooted down.
I felt into gravity, and really grounded myself.
And then I moved my consciousness into my energetic field.
It's that space that lives outside your body.
Outside your physical body.
I believe it extends about 6 feet.
Picture, like an egg shape, around you, like 6 feet.
Different people will say different distances.
I don't know if they can accurately measure it because I also believe you can throw your energy around.
So, I'm not certain on that, but let's just say 6 feet for the purposes of this.
So, you can visually see that space around you and you basically just take your consciousness and you picture yourself in that space.
You move yourself into that space.
What Happened When My Energy Started Flowing
I believe there's a lot of power in our energy.
When we can remember that we are a spirit having a human experience, we become that much more powerful.
And that's what happened in this moment.
When I did that from this grounded, very buzzy, high vibration state, moving my consciousness into my energy, it allowed me unconsciously, because I didn't know what I was doing, to somehow clear the blocks and manipulate the energy.
As soon as I did that, the energy whooshed around every chakra, that block that was there that was like a drippy faucet, then became Niagara Falls.
It was flowing, baby.
It was flowing.
My energy went everywhere so fast and so furious, and in that moment, I left my living room.

What I Saw During My Out-of-Body Experience
I was in...I don't really know how to describe the space I was in...it was just pure energy and pure love.
And my body wasn't really my body.
It was like a ball of light.
And it multiplied into six.
I could see that I was this one being and it multiplied into six.
You know when you fold paper and you cut out a shape and then you unfold it and there's just a whole bunch of bodies holding hands?
That's what it was like.
I multiplied and we were all holding hands in a circle.
And even though there were six of us, I knew they were all me.
An out of body experience doesn't actually say to you: "hey, here's exactly your message. Go do this thing now."
So I didn't understand at the time what those six beings meant.
But I had multiplied into six, and then a phoenix rose from the center.
And in that moment, I understood that to mean I should pursue sound healing as a career.

My New Understanding of What Makes Up Our Human Existence as a Whole
It's been 3 years since that experience. As the years have gone on, I've come to understand that moment so much better.
You are far more than a body, like I've touched on in this post.
Those six beings, to me, represent your:
body,
mind,
emotions,
soul,
energy,
connection to source, your connection to everything.
Those six pieces make up you.
And when they work together in unison, you can hear your intuition loud and clear.
The phoenix in the center, when all that is working in unison, that's your life purpose.
That's why you're here.
That's when you ascend.
That's where you have joy and purpose and abundance and love and anything that you could ever want.
That's the reason your soul came here this lifetime, and when you have all six parts working in unison, it becomes easy and clear what your next steps are to get closer to that state.
It's your own unique life purpose compass.
Why I Believe We’re More Than Just a Body
As Westerners, unfortunately, Western culture segregates everything.
You go to therapy to work on your mind, or your emotions.
You go to the gym to work on your body, or you go to the doctor to work on your body.
You go to the eye doctor for your eyes.
You go to the dentist for your teeth.
So many specialists. So much separation.
And that is good and it has its place.
But we are holistic beings.
We are whole beings.
We have these different layers that need to work together in concert, in unison, in harmony, in order for you to hear your intuition and your guidance and your life purpose, so that you can feel happy and fulfilled in your life.
My New Ritual That Came From This Experience
From this experience, I've developed a six part exercise that you can do.
You can take as long or as little time as you want with it.
You're basically getting to know those parts and connecting them every day.
Think of it like getting to know a new friend.
The goal is for you to be in harmony, so that you can be in peace, in alignment.
And for me, after having practised that now for over a year and a half,
my life has completely changed.
I went from being an over-thinker, to now being a recovering over-thinker.
I live from my intuition instead of from my mind.
When I first started doing somatic psychotherapy, I couldn't feel both my feet at the same time. I couldn't feel two body parts, any two body parts, at the same time.
And now I can feel my entire body at once.
I now have the ability to manipulate my energy the same way a craniosacral therapist does, simply by having this relationship with my six layers.
It's not hard.
You just need practice tapping into those places.
You have the power inside to create your reality, to access anything that you want.
It is all available to you inside of you.
That's what the Phoenix represents.
And all you have to do is learn to have a relationship with your body, with your mind, with your emotions, with your soul, with your energy, and with source.
That's it.

The Most Important Relationship You'll Ever Have
If you're interested in me walking you through it, I am opening up some spots to walk a small group of women through my six step process.
Here is the link here to get on the VIP list to be the first to know when the next session opens up.
I also describe the quick version of the method in my 10 minutes to clarity free resource. I am in the finishing touches working on that. You can check my link list here to see if it's there if you want to grab that.
But at the core, like I mentioned above, you are basically creating a relationship with all the parts of yourself, the way you would with a friend, the way you would with a new person you meet.
For example, you sit with your body and you say: "hi body, I feel you, thank you, I love you."
You know, there's more to it, but basically, that's what it is with all six parts.
Because we also have grown up in an age where it's not okay always to share your emotions.
And so if you never thought it was okay to feel them or express them, you always push them down.
Or if you've learned that it's bad to be an over-thinker, your thoughts come and you try and push them away.
And when you're pushing them away, they get louder.
You know, this is why I believe we have disease. Because our body is trying to tell us something, and we're not listening.
We just take a pill or we take, you know, another path and we ignore it and we push through because we have all these things in life that we think we should be doing.
But our body, or any of the other parts, is still needing to communicate with us, so it tells us in the only way it knows how. It doesn't have a voice. So we need to learn its language.
My method helps you learn to hear it loud and clear.
Why Your Relationship With Yourself Changes Everything
At the end of the day, you need to honour your own human experience.
That's your job.
You need to take care of your human.
You're a spirit having a human experience.
As a human, you have these different parts of yourself, and all you have to do is create a relationship with them.
Learn how to hear them, learn how to feel them, learn how to tap into them. Once you do, you access, you tap into, this field of power and potential that you have read about, that you only dreamed was possible, that now is actually a reality for you because you've just tapped into everything for yourself.
Looking Inside Myself Instead of Outside Myself
So, that's the story of my out-of-body experience and how I went from looking outside of myself, looking to everyone else for answers, for guidance, to learning how to tap in and look to myself.
Above all else.
And my entire life changed.
I am so much happier and so much more confident as a result.
So I hope this inspires you to go after that in your own life because you deserve it and it's so simple.
Anybody can do it.
